I think this campaign is brilliant! It engages the consumer in a way that is very rare in the industry. They even have someone selling "the last of the square Shreddies" on Ebay!
Absolute genius. This transcends advertising. It makes Shreddies a part of today's culture.

I was quite appalled by the demeanor of Minister Hearn. He looks like the fanatic.

I am not in the least impressed that he is making us the allies of Japan and there "dolphin clubbing" ways. The worlds oceasn are choking on plastic debris and Canada is STILL BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE FOR ITS PROBLEMS. Boo Hoo. Yeah Right.

I recall how we were contacted by Minister Crosbie in advance of the closure of the cod fishery like he thought it would make us happy if the Canadian government closed the fishery after it was completely hopelessly collapsed. Sorry, I recall very well that time and how every Newfie politician was chiming how there was lots of cod still out there till the very end. Newfoundland has given Canada nothing but the most two faced politicians who care nothing about truth.

Great point. I'm glad you used a positive example too.

Of course this isn't a new issue. The web has just made it easier and faster to distribute information. Practitioners who remember the days before the web (how old do I feel?) will know that letters, or even face-to-face or telephone conversations, could find their way in to the public domain via "letters to the Editor", talk back radio, and sometimes even television bulletins.

I was given some great advice early in my career: If what you say or write would be published on the front page of a newspaper tomorrow, would you be embarrassed? If the answer is yes, don't say, write or do it.

That advice is even more important in the world of Web 2.0.
